Made from 100% Anji Mountain bamboo, considered the strongest in the world, this rug resists cracks, splinters, and water, ensuring years of reliable use in covered outdoor spaces or indoors. Every winter bamboo plants in China's Anji region are exposed to a two month freeze that reduces the flow of sap, resulting in a slower rate of growth that promotes a dense, durable bamboo with a tensile strength greater than steel. The sustainably harvested, mature bamboo is kiln-dried and carbonized, removing excess moisture that can lead to cracks and warping in lesser bamboo. The rug has a ventilated, non-slip cushioned pad that resists the growth of mold and mildew and ensures comfortable and confident footing. The rugs are hand-sanded, ensuring the smoothest finish possible, and the polypropylene borders are micro-stitched and bound with mitered corners for optimal strength.
